Jon Scott began his career in the news industry as a correspondent for KOMU-TV in Columbia.

He then worked as a weekday evening news anchor, weekend co-anchor, and reporter for WPLG-TV (ABC) in Miami. Jon also worked as the Denver bureau chief for KUSA-TV (NBC). He moved from channel to channel to gain experience and to build his resume; he also worked as a correspondent for Dateline NBC from 1992 to 1995.

Prior to joining Fox News Channel in 1996, Jon was the host of A Current Affair. He was the reporter who covered Osama Bin Laden’s death on May 1 and 2, 2011.

Jon has received several state and national awards for his news coverage, as well as an Emmy for her work on the NBC show Dateline.

Jon finished his high school education at Denver Lutheran High School. Later, he enrolled at the University of Missouri-Columbia to study journalism, which he had always wanted to do.

People are surprised to learn that Jon is a licensed pilot with the ability to fly single-engine airplanes. Jon applies his knowledge when covering aviation stories, such as the crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214, which he covered on July 6, 2013.
