Joshua is an American born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, where he was born in 1998. His ethnicity is predominantly German. Joshua struggled with languages as a child and was dismissed from his fifth-grade school for using a fabricated answer on a grammar test in Punjabi.

He knew just English, therefore until the age of 19, he was unilingual. Joshua was born in 1998, and his nationality is US. Career and education: Joshua pursued a degree in biomedical engineering with a neuroengineering specialization.

LingQ and reading were Joshua’s first steps in learning Russian. However, he has a sluggish right eye, so this appeared quite challenging; reading stressed and pained his eyes tremendously. Joshua didn’t give up on learning Russian; instead, he put an eye patch on his right eye, started using LingQ, and dedicated three hours a day to studying short stories.

And as a result, he was able to learn Russian to a respectable level. Joshua has kept most of his language-learning process under wraps because he uses Patreon to pay for it, but he has disclosed that he utilizes Google Translate to pick up a few lighthearted phrases in a new language right away in order to make the process enjoyable.

He immerses himself in the language and commits a few phrases to memory. Joshua studies languages alone because he believes that formal language instruction, which requires attending classes, is ineffective and unnecessary.
