Josiah, a teenage cyclist, was killed in an accident while riding his bike. It was a dreadful mishap. According to Virginia state police, the event occurred in Campbell County, and the two-vehicle collision is being investigated.

The accident happened on Thursday, May 11, around 3:19 p.m., on English Tavern Road, about 50 feet south of Depot Road.

The accident occurred when a Chrysler attempted to overtake the bicycle, according to the police statement. The bike unexpectedly veered towards the Chrysler, leaving the driver with no chance of averting the accident.

Unfortunately, Josiah, a 20-year-old McDonough, Ga. resident, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital right away. Despite receiving medical assistance, he unfortunately died the next day, May 12, from his injuries.

He was, however, wearing a bicycle helmet at the time of the accident, which could not save him.

The Lynchburg woman driving the Chrysler was fortunate not to be injured in the incident. The police ruled that neither speeding nor alcohol were factors in the accident.

As a result, no charges have been filed in connection with the accident.
