Juwan Howard

Juwan Antonio Howard, sometimes known as Juwan Howard, is a former professional basketball player and current basketball coach in the United States. He is now the University of Michigan’s basketball coach. From 2013 through 2019, he worked as an assistant coach with the Miami Heat of the NBA. He was picked by the Washington Bullets in the NBA draft in 1994. He has also played for the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, Charlotte Bobcats, Portland Trail Blazers, and Miami Heat, among other NBA clubs. Juwan Howard was born on February 7, 1973, in New York City. Juwan Antonio Howard is his given name. He had a father named Leroy Watson and a mother named Helena Howard. He was born in the United States, in the city of Chicago. He is an American citizen. His grandmother was his adoptive mother and nurtured him. He didn’t have any siblings.

He was a high school basketball player at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. He committed to play at the University of Michigan after high school.

At Michigan, he was known as one of The Fab Five. The Fab Five also included Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson. He declared his intention to enter the 1994 NBA draft after his sophomore season at Michigan. Playing Career:

In the first round of the 1994 NBA draft, he was chosen fifth overall by the Washington Bullets. From 1994 to 2001, he was a member of the Bullets for six and a half seasons. In 1997, the Washington Bullets were renamed the Washington Wizards.

He went on to play with the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, and Orlando Magic for a year apiece.

From 2004 through 2008, he spent three full seasons with the Houston Rockets.

In 2007, he returned to the Dallas Mavericks before joining the Denver Nuggets in 2008.

Before joining the Miami Heat in 2010, he played for the Charlotte Bobcats and Portland Trail Blazers.

In 2012, he earned his first NBA title with the Miami Heat. He is the only member of the Fab Five who has ever won an NBA title. With the Heat the following year, he won his second NBA championship.

Coaching Career:

In September 2013, he was named as the Miami Heat’s assistant coach.

He remained an assistant coach with the Heat until 2019.

In May of this year, he was named head coach at the University of Michigan. With the University, he signed a five-year contract.
