Kasper Peter Schmeichel, also known as Kasper Schmeichel, is a Danish goalkeeper who currently plays for Premier League club Leicester City and the Denmark national team. He is the son of Peter Schmeichel, a former Danish international goalkeeper who has played for Manchester United, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and other clubs. He began his football career with Manchester City after playing for Estoril’s youth squad. From 2004 to 2009, he was loaned out to five different Manchester City teams: Darlington, Bury, Falkirk, Cardiff City, and Coventry City. He joined League Two side Notts County on 14 August 2009 in a move that is thought to have shattered the club’s previous transfer record, and made his debut on 22 August 2009. After a year, he signed a two-year contract with Leeds United on July 1, 2010, and made his debut on August 7, 2010. On June 27, 2011, he signed a three-year contract with Leicester City for an unknown amount. He has played over 350 games for Leicester City and has won the Premier League and the Football League Championship.
