The first gymnastics class Ohashi took when he was three years old. It was at the Junior Olympic National Championships in 2009 that she made her first appearance. She was 12 at the time. There, she won first place in floor exercise, second place in the uneven bars, and fourth place in all-around at the tournament. Her first high-level competition was at the US Classic in Des Moines, Iowa, where she came in ninth place. In 2013, she won the AT&T American Cup all-around title. Previously, she won four gold medals in the City of Jesolo Trophy. She also won one silver medal and one bronze medal in the same event. During the 2011 US Gymnastics Championships, she also won the junior all-around medals on bars, beam, and floor for the all-around team.

When she went to the University of California in 2015, she also joined the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team, so she did both. At UCLA, she was an All-American ten times. When she was a player, she was named Pac-12 Specialist of the Week ten times during her time. There were times when she was named Pac-12 Specialist of the Year in both 2018 and 2019. At work, she even got 11 perfect 10s. In 2018, she was also named the NCAA Team Champion.
