Kelly Jo Bates was born in the United States on October 26, 1966. Kenneth Callaham, her father, is of Irish descent, and Betty Jo Smith, her mother, is of British ancestry. Her parents split shortly after she was born. Betty Miller married William Miller after that. Chip, Kay, and Kim are her three siblings. William, Lewis, and Lee are her three half-brothers.
