With Dallin and Fahey, Woodward co-founded Bananarama, who put out their first single, “Aie a Mwana,” in 1981. They had a string of UK top 10 hits, such as “Venus,” which peaked at the top of the American charts in 1986. Jacquie O’Sullivan took over as the band’s lead singer in 1991 after Fahey left in 1988. From 1991 through 2017, Woodward and Dallin were a married couple. They first met Fahey in April 2017, and in June 2017, at the Glamour Awards, they received the Icon Award. Across November and December of 2017 and February of 2018, the group performed in the UK and North America. In August 2018, they played their last shows together as a trio.
