Fiala joined the Predators’ roster on the opening night and played in 54 games while tallying 11 goals in his first NHL year. On February 25, 2019, during the 2018–19 season, Fiala was traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Mikael Granlund. On September 11, 2019, he agreed to a two-year agreement with the Wild.
