Lakiha Spicer, her father Shamsud-din Ali, and her mother Faridah Ali (Rita Spicer) were charged in September 2004 with engaging in a racketeering enterprise to acquire money and property through extortion and bribery schemes. Spicer was sentenced to four years of house arrest and probation. Her father was sentenced to nine years in prison until 2013, and her mother to a year in prison.

She was sentenced to six months in prison in 2008, while pregnant with Mike’s child, for fraud and conspiracy involving $71,000 from her father’s school, Sister Clara Muhammad School.
