In addition, the Oslo Police revealed in May 2021 that they would be looking into a number of online threats made against Lan after she published a Facebook post showing support for Gaza during the Israel-Palestine crisis of 2021.

In June 2021, the Oslo City Council adopted a resolution of no-confidence in her due to a dispute over the budget for the city’s new water system, which was still under construction.
