Lauren Alaina is a Georgia-born American country singer-songwriter and actress. She rose to prominence as a result of the American singing competition television series ‘American Idol.’ She finished second in the tenth season of the show.

‘Road Less Traveled,’ her second studio album, was released on January 27, 2017. With the album’s title song, she achieved her first number one on the Country Airplay chart. Her next number one came the following year when she topped five Billboard charts simultaneously with her friend Kane Brown on their duet ‘What Ifs.’

Lauren shot to fame when she auditioned for the tenth season of American Idol in Nashville, Tennessee. Since the beginning, she has been the judges’ favorite. Lauren made it to the finals thanks to her hard work and talent. Despite not winning the competition, she was named the show’s runner-up.

Alaina was already attracting a lot of attention from fans and record labels. During her time as an American Idol contestant, she signed with Interscope Records, Mercury Nashville, and 19 Recordings.
