She performed in minor roles in TV shows such as Charlie’s Angels, Vega$, Family, Starsky and Hutch, and others during the year. She also worked as a waiter in “penniless” Sunset Boulevard coffee shops.
Only after playing cruise director Julie McCoy on The Love Boat does she gain a break in her acting career. She made her cinematic début in 1984 with Jennifer Jason Leigh in the film Eyes of a Stranger.
