Leandro Trossard began his professional career by transitioning from the Bocholt academy to the K.R.C. Genk youth academy in 2010. In July 2013, he signed a loan agreement with K.V.C. Westerlo, and on August 3, 2013, he made his debut and first start for the team in a 2-2 home draw against A.F.C. Tubize. In July 2014, he was once more loaned to Lommel United, where on March 22, 2015, he recorded his second hat-trick of the season in a 6-0 victory over Racing Mechelen. On 17th May 2021, he was named in Belgium’s 26-man squad for Euro 2020 as well as he made his first appearance of the tournament in Belgium’s last group encounter against Finland on 21 June with Belgium already through to the knockouts.
