Who Is Lily from NMIXX?
Lily was born on October 17, 2002 in Victoria, Australia as a Libra. Lily grew up in Australia before moving to South Korea in 2015 to work as a K-pop trainee at JYP Entertainment (home of TWICE and Stray Kids). She is fluent in both English and Korean.
Lily has a fun fact: she provided the female voice in GOT7’s 2015 smash “If You Do,” which she admitted she penned!
GOT7 member Youngjae recounted how her memorable narration in the midst of the song came to be on her radio show Best Friend.
“It was in 2015, so… fourteen? “To be honest, I was surprised back then,” she remarked. “When I arrived at the studio, they told me, ‘Lily, I want you to write these kinds of lyrics.'” You must be a cruel girl who has broken up with her lover.’ “I had no idea what was going on, so I just said yes and wrote it.”
She went on to say, “The producer and I thought of ideas together, and I wrote it in English.”
What is NMIXX?
NMIXX made their debut with the single “O.O” on February 22, 2023. Jinni quit the group, which included Lily, Sullyoon, Haewon, Jiwoo, Kyujin, and BAE, in December 2022.
The girls are noted for their amazing vocals, vibrant music videos, and experimental sound, which they refer to as “MIXX POP.” In fact, their distinct sound sparked quite a commotion online following their debut, as many listeners initially felt their music was incomprehensible. Fans warmed up to the girls’ mashup music concept once they released “DICE” a few months later.
“As more fans listen to NMIXX’s MIXX POP and see them adapt to MIXX POP. I know we’re doing a good job,” member Haewon told Elle Magazine in November 2022.
The girls are well aware of how divisive their music can be, but they also believe it can be as addictive. “A lot of things at the start can be difficult to get into but once you get used to it, people, I feel like, can start loving it,” Lily told the news outlet. “So even though it was a little hard to see such negative reactions, I have hope that people will come to like MIXX POP.”
