Despite being of ambiguous ethnicity, she is an Israeli national. After completing high school, Lucy enrolled in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to study drama and social sciences. She was inspired to become a journalist after going there. After graduating, she continued her studies at the Koteret School in Tel Aviv to pursue journalism. She then completed a nearly one-year internship in a school in Germany.
