Margo Rey Life in the Family

Margo Rey was born on October 18, 1966, in Acapulco, Mexico, to Flamenco dancer Juana-Amparo Jurado and cliff diver Alejandro Reymundo.

However, when she was two years old, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, with her parents and four siblings (including brother comedian Alex Reymundo). In terms of her personal life, Rey was married to popular comedian/actor Ron White from 2013 to 2017. Rey is a breast cancer survivor who frequently raises funds for non-profit organizations dedicated to women’s cancer research.

Margo Rey began her career in show business as a teenager, when she became the lead vocalist in the all-female rock band Debutante. She and her bandmates toured the United States extensively and self-released their album ‘These Boots Were Made For Walkin’. Rey then joined the power-pop band The Ritual and began singing. She was hired by Sambuca, a Dallas venue after it disbanded. Soon after, she founded Miss Margo & The Lost Souls, a Latin Jazz/R&B sextet.

The group released their debut album, titled ‘Acaba,’ which included one number-five and two number-twenty songs. The success of the album led to the Mexican singer signing a major record deal with PolyGram Latino in 1997. As a result, she was cast in a prominent role in the Broadway musical ‘Selena Forever’ in the late 1990s. She flew to Los Angeles during this time and was eventually signed by Abrams Artist Agency. Rey went on to do voiceover work in a variety of commercials for both Spanish and English companies. In 2009, she released her album ‘My Heart’s Desire.’

The album also included a number of singles, including “My Heart’s Desire,” “Between Us,” “You Belong to Me,” and “Couldn’t Be More Wrong.”

She was then noticed by her future husband Ron White and music producer Michael Blakey and signed with their Organica Music Group. The group released her original dance EP ‘Habit (Remixes),’ which debuted at number seven and quickly rose to number one. The EP’s lead single, “Let the Rain,” co-written by Rey and John Oates, peaked at #17 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. In addition, the radio single “Between Us” charted at #21 on the same chart.

The Mexican singer-songwriter released a Christmas EP titled ‘This Holiday Night’ in 2011.

Organica Music Group released her album ‘Habit’ the following July. Rey, Chris Wabich, and Elton Ahi produced the album.

According to the Common Law Union in Texas, the 62-year-old comedian married Margo Rey in 2013. Margo is a Grammy Award-winning singer who has worked with artists such as Buju Banton and Marc Anthony. According to Rey, the couple married in 2013 at a private wedding in Texas. They’ve been living together ever since, even after they moved to California. Despite this, Ron White refuses to recognize that the Union of Common Law makes them husband and wife. The couple does not have any children.
