He joined EY’s tax department after graduating from Case Western Reserve University in 1987. Later, he transferred to the government, where he worked as a tax counsel for Senator John C. Danforth. He was named chief of staff for the Entitlement and Tax Reform Committee in 1994. Mark co-founded Washington Counsel two years later, which was later acquired by P.C.EY in May 2000 and renamed Washington Council (Ernst and Young).
