Alpine Country Club is being sued

Maryana Beyder, a real estate salesperson, was eating supper with her husband at the Alpine Country Club on September 7th, 2018. One of the waiters poured red wine over Beyder, her spouse, as well as her handbag, while she was there.

It was a vintage pink Hermes bag, one of the most valuable and unique bags in the world. Famous and wealthy celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, and Jennifer Lopez adore Hermès bags, which sell for hundreds of dollars. Maryana said her spouse gave it to her on her 30th birthday. Alexandra Errico, Beyder’s lawyer, said she sought to resolve the situation with the country club directly for over a year. But as the club stopped replying and the situation became tense, she had no choice but to initiate legal action.

As a result, in October 2019, the real estate agent filed a $30, 000 lawsuit against the club. Errico stated in an interview:

“‘Whoever the server was, he or she immediately began pouring red wine and did not stop. It was poured all over her. Her husband was drenched in it. And then dumped it all over a pricey Hermès bag.”

Beyder claimed that the private country club was irresponsible in hiring the server who performed the deed. The club then responded to the lawsuit by rejecting any responsibility. They also filed a second lawsuit against the employee who was responsible for the incident, John Doe.

However, Errico, the real estate agent’s lawyer, stated that the club has disappointed them by placing the blame on the staff. They also don’t want the responsibility to fall on him.

Errico went on to say that they had nothing to do with the waiter and were not attempting to extort money from him. Furthermore, his client had no intention of pursuing him in any way. He went on to say, ‘The only purpose was to have the employer accept responsibility.’

In addition, the lawyer stated;

“They didn’t have to sue a person who worked for them. It essentially demonstrates that they are behaving in bad faith.”

The case, however, has been resolved after the Bergen County Superior Court reopened it. Maryana and her husband did not appear at the bar with the paperwork the bar had requested.
