He drove for Chip Ganassi Racing in six Indy Lights races in 1988, winning one at Pocono. In 1989, he and teammate Tony Bettenhausen attempted to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 in Bettenhausen Racing’s 1987 Lolachassis, but both failed.
