On August 26, 2010, Degenek scored his first goal for Australia U17 in a 4-3 loss to Portugal U17. Following that, he played in two FIFA U-17 World Cup matches for Australia’s under-17 national team. After a long hiatus, Degenek was called up to the Olyroos squad to face Turkey and FYR Macedonia on August 26, 2015.
