Norma developed a passion for viniculture after visiting Tuscany, Italy. Thus she and her late husband bought a vineyard in Napa Valley, California, in 2000.  By 2002 they started selling wines called Perfect Season Cabernet Sauvignon. In June 2019, Hunt listed the property for sale for $20 million. Alongside the vineyard, the land features a home with three-bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a wine cellar, and a four-car garage.

Sadly, The Chief’s matriarch could not find any buyer at that time, so they removed the property from listing. However, in January 2020, the land is back in the market for $15 million.  Norma, though, is selling the vineyard; however, she has no intention to stop making wine. She will continue to sell wine through her brand, A Perfect Season.

Lamar Hunt, son of oil tycoon H.L. Hunt, was blown away with the beauty of Norma and started pursuing her. Thankfully, he did not have to work hard to win her heart as they both loved football, and the romance between them developed organically.

After a short courtship, which involved watching many football games, the pair tied the knot. The wedding took place at her parents’ home in Richardson, Dallas, on January 22, 1964. After the festivities, the newlyweds went to Austria Winter Olympics for honeymoon.

It may sound weird to have a honeymoon during the Olympics, but for Norma and her husband, nothing could top that. They both were sports fanatics, and a opportunity to attend a nice game was always joyful.

The children loved the balls and were always playing with the ball around the house. So, when Lamar was faced with coming up a name for the championship, he took inspiration for the toy balls and threw the name Super Bowl in the meeting.

The name was not popular with other members, and they continued using AFL-NFL Championship Game. However, when Lamar accidentally used Super Bowl during a interview, it soon became popular in the media. As it gained popularity in pop culture, then slowly, it became the official name for the tournament.

The 81-year-old has honored her late husband’s wishes and has not missed a Super Bowl yet. This means she has been witness to many great games and the most significant pop-culture moment. She saw the games of great players such as Joe Greene and Joe Montana.

She also experienced great halftime performances, including that of Prince performing in driving rain. However, her favorite performance was that of Diana Ross in Super Bowl XXX.
