Pablo Lyle, a Mexican actor, is imprisoned for a fatal traffic accident.

Following a road rage altercation in Miami in 2019, Mexican actor Pablo Lyle punched a man to death, earning him a five-year prison term on Friday.

The verdict came nearly four years after Pablo Lyle was accused of killing a man in a traffic accident by striking him.

The punishment was given two months after Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez denied the actor’s plea for a new trial and upheld the jury’s guilty verdict.

The 36-year-old Mexican telenovela star who starred in “Yankee,” a Netflix crime series, received a 15-year prison term as the highest possible. In addition, the actor was given 500 hours of community service, 500 hours of conflict resolution training, and an eight-year probationary period.

There is a 30-day appeal period for the actor.

Lyle appeared composed and showed regret throughout the more than three-hour hearing while wearing a red jail uniform. Since his conviction on October 4, he has been in custody.

Looking at some of the Hernández family members present in the courtroom, including his son, Lyle apologised in Spanish. “I always, fervently pray for him and for you.”

A six-person jury found Lyle guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Juan Ricardo Hernández, 63, following a week-long trial.

Hernández, who was unarmed, sustained a serious head damage and passed away while being treated in the hospital four days later.

His defense team contended that Lyle acted in self-defense. Additionally, they claimed that the trial’s evidence was inconsistent.

However, the judge stated that Lyle made a “bad decision” and acted “out of rage” when delivering her sentencing.

According to the facts, Mr. Lyle’s action was violent, Tinkler declared. “Mr. Lyle needs to take responsibility for those deeds.”

Security cameras filmed the roadside altercation.

The actor, his wife, and their two kids were being driven to the airport by Lyle’s brother-in-law. They drove by Hernández’s automobile, who pulled up to a stop at a stop sign, got out, and went up to Lyle’s car to complain that they were blocking his path.

Lyle allegedly hit Hernández in the face after the two argued, according to surveillance footage. Lyle insisted he was acting in self-defense. He claimed that Hernández had a weapon and that his children were afraid.

Before the judge made her verdict public, Lyle’s wife, his brother-in-law, and his sister testified during the hearing.

Hernández’s son spoke highly of him as a very joyful, kind individual with sound morals. Juan Ricardo Hernández Jr. requested that Lyle receive the maximum 15-year sentence.

He claimed that he had been with his father the day before the altercation.

Hernández’s son admitted that when he visited his father in the hospital after learning of the incident, “I didn’t want to believe it was him.”
