Polly Radcliffe is a Research Fellow at the National Addiction Centre, IoPPN, at King’s College London. She has investigated gender and identity in the criminal justice system, substance abuse treatment, and health care as a qualitative researcher. The female research fellow is intelligent, astute, and adept in dealing with people. She was born in 1854 and has researched the link between substance abuse and domestic violence. The Lady Research Fellow’s professional life

In 2014, Polly Radcliffe started working at King’s. She also has nearly two decades of qualitative research experience in health and social care, with a focus on gender and identity in criminal justice, substance abuse treatment, and health care services. She previously worked on research projects at the Institute for Criminal Policy Research and the University of Kent before joining the National Addiction Center. Polly has a Ph.D. in Sociology from Goldsmiths College.

She is the primary researcher on the ESRC-funded Relations Study, Governing parental opioid use: a relational ethnography, which examines how policies and practices for engaging with drug-affected families affect children and families from a family perspective. Polly was an NIHR Advance Programme Co-Applicant. She managed qualitative research for the ESRC-funded Men, Substance Use, and Relationships study in the United Kingdom. She also enlisted the help of guys undergoing substance abuse treatment to complete survey questions.

To better understand the motivations of IPV perpetrators, the Research Fellow conducted qualitative interviews with them. The Lady conducted policy mapping exercises and interviewed policy and practice stakeholders. She coordinated the national Learning Alliance and led and co-authored studies and the Framework for dealing safely and effectively with male IPV perpetrators in the context of substance use treatment.

In terms of her marriage, Polly Radcliffe married Paul Ritter, an English actor, in 1996. Until Paul Ritter’s death, the couple had a wonderful family and married life. Furthermore, Polly’s husband died of a brain tumor at the age of 54 in his home, surrounded by his family, on April 5, 2021. Frank and Noah were the couple’s two sons, and they lived peacefully in Faversham, Kent. Paul Ritter was an actor from England. He was also well-known for his parts in the Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner (2011-2020).

In addition, the gifted actor also played the long-haired wizard Eldred Worple in the sixth Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and a shrewd political operator Guy Haines in the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace. He was also nominated for an Oliver Award for his performance in the Royal National Theatre’s production of Coram Boy. He was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway revival of The Norman Conquests trilogy at the Old Vic.
