Before the Charlotte Bobcats selected him in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft, he played for the Pacers for three seasons. He averaged 13.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game with the Bobcats in the 2004–05 season.He and Walter Herrmann were given to the Detroit Pistons on December 14, 2007, in exchange for Nazr Mohammed.
