Prince Edward began his career by enlisting in the Royal Marines, who purportedly paid for his Cambridge tuition in exchange for future service when he committed to joining the Marines in September 1983. However, he left the commando program in January 1987 after completing one-third of the 12-month training, choosing instead to pursue a career in entertainment. For his mother’s 60th birthday celebration, he later ordered the 1986 musical “Cricket” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. To commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in April 2022, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar traveled to Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Antigua and Barbuda. However, after discussions with the island’s administration and governor-general, their intended trip to Grenada was postponed, and the pair indicated their desire to travel there at a later time.
