Andrew Antony A member of the British royal family, Richard Louis is also known as Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Forfar. Prior to being hitched to Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999, he was titled Earl of Wessex. In 2019, he received the additional title of Earl of Forfar. He is revealed to be the youngster of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Queen Elizabeth II. Edward Antony Richard Louis, the prince’s real name, was born on March 10, 1964, at Buckingham Palace in London, England. He is both British and White British by ethnicity. He is the fourth and youngest child of his parents, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Queen Elizabeth II. He is their third son. Prince Edward began his career by enlisting in the Royal Marines, who purportedly paid for his Cambridge tuition in exchange for future service when he committed to joining the Marines in September 1983. However, he left the commando program in January 1987 after completing one-third of the 12-month training, choosing instead to pursue a career in entertainment. For his mother’s 60th birthday celebration, he later ordered the 1986 musical “Cricket” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. This led to a job offer at Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Theatre Company, where Edward worked as a production assistant on musical productions like “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Starlight Express,” and “Cats.”

In 1993, he established the Ardent Productions television production firm. In 1996, Edward produced a documentary about his great-uncle Edward VIII (the late Duke of Windsor), which was favorably received internationally. Then, in September 2001, while Prince William was attending the University of St. Andrews, an Ardent two-man film team allegedly violated the private of the royal family member, violating industry standards for royal family members’ privacy. According to reports, William’s father, Charles, the older brother of Edward, was upset by the incident. Later, in March 2002, he made the announcement that he would resign from his positions as Ardent’s production director and joint managing director in order to focus on his official commitments and assist the Queen during her Golden Jubilee year.

To commemorate their new titles, Forfar’s Strathmore Woollen Company created the “Earl of Forfar” tartan, which was also given to the Earl. He just assumed the duties of the Royal Windsor Horse Show’s president, a post that had previously been held by his father, the Duke of Edinburgh, in February 2022.

To commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in April 2022, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar traveled to Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Antigua and Barbuda. However, after discussions with the island’s administration and governor-general, their intended trip to Grenada was postponed, and the pair indicated their desire to travel there at a later time.
