Childhood of Qasem Soleimani

Qasem was born in Qanat-e Malek, Kerman, on March 11, 1957, and died at Baghdad International Airport, Baghdad Governorate, Iraq, on January 3, 2020. He died when he was 62 years old. His nationality was Iranian, and he was of Persian ethnicity.

 Death of Qasem Soliemani

The 3rd of January 2020 could be a significant date for the entire globe, as it could trigger World War 3. Iran’s Qasem Soleimani, a major general, was murdered around 1:00 a.m. local time (22:00 a.m. UTC on January 2nd). He was slain when an American drone fired missiles at his convoy near Baghdad International Airport, killing him. The missiles were launched shortly after he left his jet, which had arrived in Iraq from Lebanon, and the incident occurred. Along with Qasem, four other people were killed by a missile, including the Iraqi-Iranian military leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Through his red ring on his finger, the body was identified as Qasim’s.

Furthermore, the US Department of Defense corroborated the information. Under President Trump’s orders, the strike was carried out. They further claimed that Qasem was plotting additional attacks on American diplomats. As a result of this occurrence, tens of thousands of people flocked to the streets to mourn the general burning of American and British flags, yelling “death to America.”

In response to the strike, Trump tweeted:

‘Iran is openly discussing targeting specific US assets as retaliation for our killing of their terrorist leader, who had just killed an American and injured many more, not to mention the hundreds of others he had killed over his lifetime, including recently…hundreds of Iranian protesters.’

‘He had already launched an attack against our embassy and was planning more strikes in other areas.’ For many years, Iran has been nothing but a source of problems.

‘Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran attacks any Americans or American assets, we have…..targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level and important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, as well as Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND HARD.’

‘The United States of America does not want any more threats!’

Death, Funeral

His funeral, which was conducted in Baghdad on January 4th, was attended by hundreds of Iraqis, mourners, and militia flags. The funeral began in Baghdad’s AI-Kadhimiya Mosque. Iraq’s prime minister, Adil Abdul-Mahdi, and other commanders of Iran-backed militias were among those who joined the burial procession. His body was transferred to the sacred Shia cities of Karbala and Najaf when he passed away.

Professional life and career

Following the Iranian Revolution, Qasim joined the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and began his professional career in 1979. Qasim was also in charge of preparing and leading irregular warfare activities carried out by the Ramadan Headquarters within Iraq. He was then appointed as the commander of the IRGC between 1997 and 1998, and he was regarded one of the prospective successors to the job of Irgc commander.

In 1999, Qasem wrote a letter to then-President Mohammad Khatami about student protests. They penned;

“Dear Mr. Khatami, how much longer must we cry, be saddened by events, practice democracy via turmoil and insults, and have revolutionary patience at the cost of destroying the system?” Dear President, if you do not take a revolutionary stance and act in accordance with your Islamic and national objectives, tomorrow would be so late and irreversible that it will be impossible to imagine.”

He has also earned awards such as the Order of Faith and the Order of Zolfaghar.

He might have made a lot of money as the Major General of Qasem up until the time of his death.
