Kennedy was turned down for roles in American Horror Story (Jessica Lange) and Weeds. Her debut cinematic role was Madeleine in 2012’s The Robbery. In the next year’s made-for-TV horror picture Little Miss Mania, she directed and wrote. During an interview, the actress noted that there are few roles available for women in their thirties, so she created and directed the film herself.
In the last five years, I’ve shifted my attention from music theatre and opera to film and television. Finding it difficult to find characters for women in their late thirties, I began writing my own television series, Little Miss Mania. Collaboration on music, acting, writing, and producing is achievable if we set away the thought of competition and focus on working together.
