Rick Steves

Have you ever visited Europe? If you have, you are more likely to have purchased a guidebook, and you are more likely to have chosen the most relatable book of all, and who could be more engaging than the American author who writes the book as an amateur traveler? As a result, you select Rick Steves’ book, “Europe Through the Back Door.”

Those who haven’t met him as a travel guide author may have seen him on television in his series, ‘Rick Steve’s Europe,’ or heard him on a radio travel show called ‘Travel with Rick Steves.’

Rick Steves is also an outspoken supporter of marijuana legalization and a social worker for the homeless and the arts.

Successful professional life of Rick Steves

Rick Steves is a man with a net worth of $10 million should be able to explain a lot about his successful professional life, but he has also suffered numerous hardships in his life. The most significant was his divorce from his long-term wife, Anne Steves, in 2010. Before they married, she had been his girlfriend for a long period. Andie Steves and Jackie Steves are the couple’s two adult children. It’s easy to imagine that their decision to divorce was a major stumbling block.

They have not divulged the cause for their divorce and have only indicated that it is due to “Personal Issues.”

Their son, Andy Steves, appears to be following in his father’s footsteps by asking people to direct their travel questions to him.

This could also indicate that the children do not harbor a grudge against their parents because of the divorce.

However, the writer’s first marriage may have had a greater impact on him. Despite the fact that he is in excellent physical condition at the age of 60, the man has not been looking for a new life partner.

There have been no updates regarding the Ex-new wife’s escapades and relationships as well. It appears that the American writer prefers to keep a low profile, as there is little information on his relationship, dating life, and affair line.

He hasn’t been sighted in a relationship yet, but he hasn’t issued any definitive affirmations either. There is also no word on what the ex-wife is up to these days.

Rick Steves makes a donation to the homeless housing complex:

In recent news, Rick Steves has donated a $ 4 million apartment complex to homeless women and their families. On his blog, Steves announced the donation of the Trinity Place housing project.

Rick discusses the need for a warm home for everyone in his blog, and how he realized this need as a young camper wandering throughout Europe with no roof over his head, sleeping in churches, trains, and friends’ hotel rooms. He also admitted that in his earlier days as a guide, he’d put his guests in cheap horrible rooms so they’d appreciate having a pleasant warm home and even did reservations late so the people were aware of the stress of whether or not they’d have a roof over their heads.

Eventually, he developed a feeling of Philanthropy, and instead of entering the Real Estate sector, he established a strategy to invest all of his retirement funds in low-cost flats rather than bank accounts, allowing him to house vulnerable people. His words were something like,

Social causes

Affordable housing has long been one of my favorite social causes. Twenty years ago, I established a plan to invest my retirement assets not in a bank to earn interest, but in low-cost apartments to shelter suffering neighbors. I’d keep my money, my equity would rise as the apartment complex appreciated, and I’d avoid all of the difficulties that would come with renting out the units as a landlord. Rather than collecting rent, my “revenue” would be the satisfaction of housing otherwise homeless people. This was a more creative, caring, and enlightened method for me to “invest” while maintaining my long-term stability.

Rick gave the 24 unit apartment complex to needy single moms for free with the assistance of the YMCA and the Rotary Club, who maintain the building.

Rick also claimed to be influenced by Donald Trump and his administration, and he wrote about the need for reform in modern social ethics on his blog:

With our president’s election and the rise of a new, greed-is-good ethic in our government, I want to be more constructive than just complaining about how our society is once again embracing “trickle-down” ethics, and our remarkable ability to ignore the need in our communities even as so much wealth is accumulated within the top one percent of our population. I’m sorry to see how wonderful individuals who devote their lives to assisting others (through social groups and non-profits throughout our society) are bracing for further imposed austerity under our billionaire-led government.

Rick Steves, a tour guide and philanthropist, appears to trust in Donald Trump’s vision and supports his administration’s economic decisions.
