Soon after, on January 20, 2021, Robert claimed that the Democratic Party, media, and technology elites used the novel coronavirus to control the American people and steal the 2020 US presidential election. This was stated by Robert on Fox Business.

Following that, on January 25, 2021, Goya Foods’ board of directors censured Robert for making unfounded public claims. His claims concerned voter fraud before, during, and after the 2020 presidential election. Robert is not permitted to speak to the press about the company’s politics without the permission of the board.

Furthermore, the majority of Goya Foods’ board of directors wished to remove Robert from his position as CEO. However, because it was a family-owned business, the company’s regulations prohibited this.
