Career of Ronnie Tutt

Early in 1974, Tutt started recording and performing with Jerry Garcia’s, Jerry Garcia’s, and Merl Saunders’ short Legion of Mary. Tutt contributed to Billy Joel’s second and third albums while playing drums with the Jerry Garcia Band for four years. When the TCB band disbanded following the passing of Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond extended an invitation to Tutt to join Diamond as Diamond’s permanent performing and recording session drummer.

Tutt also made an appearance on the Piano Man album. Additionally, he played the drums on the studio recordings Reflections (1976) and Cats Under the Stars by Garcia (1977).
