Rosa was detained after refusing to give up her bus seat to a white guy on her way home from work. On the bus in Montgomery, there was a designated seat for black and white passengers. Similarly, if all of the designated white seats are taken, black people must vacate their seats to make room for white people.

The bus driver, James F Blake, phoned the cops and arrested her because she refused to give her seat to a white passenger.

When did Rosa Parks die?

Rosa died on October 24, 2005, at the age of 92. She left this lovely environment for her own apartment on the east side of Detroit.
