Ivey became an unrestricted free agent on June 15, 2009, when Philadelphia announced that he had declined the player option on his contract for the 2009–10 season. But in August of 2009, he left the Philadelphia 76ers. He was dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks on February 18, 2010, along with Primoz Brezec, in exchange for Francisco Elson and Jodie Meeks.
He became a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder on July 21, 2010. In 2012, he and the Thunder advanced to the NBA Finals; however, they were defeated by the Miami Heat. On July 27, 2012, he rejoined the Philadelphia 76ers once more.
