She transferred to Westcountry television in January 1993 after the (TSW) station was shut down. From 1999 until 2002, she was a regular on ITV’s daytime chat show “Loose Women.” From 2010 through 2013, she returned to the show as a stand-in anchor.

Ruth was then promoted to a permanent anchor in 2014, rotating the show with her coworkers Christine Lampard, Charlene White, and Jane Moore.
