Sally Field accepts the lifetime Achievement Awards 2023, SAG Award form Andrew Garfield.
The 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on Sunday, February 26 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles to honor the best in film and television. The ceremony featured viral moments, such as Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega embracing their monotone candor together.
As well as big wins for screen sirens, such as Jennifer Coolidge, who won Best Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role in White Lotus, following her supporting actress wins at the 2022 Emmy Awards and the 2023 Golden Globes. Sally Field received the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award from Andrew Garfield, her co-star and on-screen nephew in The Amazing Spider-Man.
Field has won awards for her work in films such as Norma Rae and Lincoln, as well as television shows such as ER and Brothers & Sisters, over the last six decades. Field has worked with legends such as Jeff Bridges and the late Robin Williams, but there was something poetic and heartfelt about her Marvel Comics co-star presenting Field with the SAG Award. In 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel, Field and Garfield played the iconic Aunt May and Peter Parker duo. Their on-screen romance clearly influenced their real-life relationship, with Garfield praising Field’s talent, brilliance, humor, and heart.
Sally Field’s Oscar de la Renta SAG Awards red carpet look
Following Garfield’s moving speech, the two hugged and the actress basked in her well-deserved spotlight.
Field accessorized her Oscar de la Renta gown with delicate black sequined embroidery and sheer accents, as well as Fred Leighton jewelry and iconic black frames. The sheer trend can be translated into a variety of looks, but for a super sophisticated look, we love this lace Oscar de la Renta gown from Nordstrom.
Field looked stunning at the 2023 SAG Awards, and her acceptance speech was equally so. “I’ve worked for Mrs. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump’s mother, and Spiderman’s aunt. “There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t feel quietly delighted to call myself an actor,” Field told the star-studded audience.
