Sam Horsfield made his amateur debut in 2013 as a 16-year-old, becoming the youngest-ever champion of the Florida State Amateur.
Horsefield’s first golf experience would have been the 2015 Walker Cup at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. He did, however, withdraw two weeks before the tournament. The English golfer did so in part because he was worried about his immigration status.
