Hall moved to the AWA (American Wrestling Association) in 1985, where the owner hoped to turn him into a superstar like Hulk Hogan. Between 1987 and 1990, he traveled to Japan to wrestle. Hall and his partner held the AWA Tag Team Championships, but after losing them, they split up, with Hall joining the NWA in 1989. Jim Ross moved him into the NWA’s WCW area, where he wrestled a few roadshows before making his in-ring debut on June 16. Hall returned to WCW in 1991, and after a year with the business, he left on May 8, 1992.Later that month, he joined the WWF, and the persona Razor Ramone was born after he got the concept from the film Scarface. On August 8, 1992, he made his professional wrestling debut. WCW and WWF had alternating departures and returns, and he also worked for TNA and NJPW.
