He began playing basketball professionally in 2014. Christon was selected by the Miami Heat on June 26, 2014, with the 55th overall choice in the NBA Draft.
Shortly after the draft, he was dealt to the Charlotte Hornets. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder shortly after that.
