A sex trafficking network was uncovered in 2019 by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch behind a massage parlor in Vile Parle. According to reports, the illegal activities happened at Thai Villa Authentic Spa, which is situated in Vile Parle’s upscale district on Dixit Road in the Rishi Building. The spa was opened by Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon in 2018 and is owned by Shura Khan and Sumit Singhania of Shura Leisure Pvt. Ltd. The owners and operators of the spa  charged with running a prostitution ring while making Thai massage therapy claims. Unit IX of the Crime Branch raided the facility after receiving a tip. The operation resulted in the rescue of six Thai women. The owner and manager of the spa also   taken into custody and taken to the Vile Parle police station after the rescue.
