Yadong started training in martial arts at the age of nine. He ultimately began training in mixed martial arts at the age of thirteen. Song made his professional debut in 2013 at the age of sixteen in the RUFF 9 match against Wuheng Zhao. His debut match ended with No contest after suffering a groin injury.
Song won his next four matchups and lost his first professional event in RUFF 13 against Xian Ji unanimously. In April 2015, Yadong made his Featherweight debut in the WBK 3 and won through Knock Out. He spent his next two years in the WLF and also made Lightweight debut in October 2017. Song signed with the UFC in November 2017 and debuted against Bharat Khandare, winning the match and Performance of the Night.
Yadong returned to Bantamweight and fought against Felipe Arantes and won Performance of the Night prize money.
