In a 109–95 loss against the Golden State Warriors on November 9, Stanley recorded 20 points and seven rebounds.

In a 111–105 win over the New York Knicks on February 4, he also set a season high with 22 points while starting at shooting guard in place of the injured Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Stanley was sent to the NBA Development League’s Grand Rapids Drive on December 10 before being recalled.

On February 7, 2019, the New Orleans Pelicans acquired Stanley in a three-team trade with the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks.
