Inception

Metal Skool, the band’s original moniker, was created in the year 2000. The band used to play at the Viper Room on Mondays before moving on to the Key Club. They eventually gained popularity and released their self-produced debut EP, “Hole Patrol,” in 2003. They later starred as Danger Kitty in a Discover Card commercial and on the popular TV show “Drew Carey Show.” Their cover of “Fantasy” was used as the opening musical theme for the popular reality TV show “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.” The band changed their name from Metal Skool to Steel Panther in April of 2008.

Evolution

In May of 2008, the band signed a deal with Republic Records, and on June 8, 2009, they published their debut album, “Feel the Steel,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard Comedy List and at number 98 on the Billboard 200 chart. The single “Eyes of a Panther” from the album is on the soundtrack for the video game “Skate 3.”

In 2011, they published their second album, “Balls Out,” which debuted at number one on the UK iTunes Rock Chart and at number four on the US iTunes Rock Chart. With the label Open E Music, they published their third album, “All You Can Eat,” in 2014. In March of 2015, the band embarked on a UK tour, which saw them sell out every venue. On March 24, 2017, they released their fourth album, “Lower the Bar.” “Heavy Metal Rules,” their fifth album, was released in September of this year.
