Min Yoon Gi is Suga’s full name. He has a 30-year-old son. He celebrates his birthday on March 9th because he was born on that date in 1993 in Daegu, South Korea. His mother, father, and older brother make up his family. By the age of 13, he had developed an interest in his chosen field.

Education

Min Yoon Gi attended Taejeon Elementary School, Gwaneum Middle School, and Apgujeong High School. He became interested in rap after hearing Stony Skunk’s “Reggae Muffin.” However, after hearing Epik High, he decided to pursue a career as a rapper.

Suga’s Professional Career

Min began writing music lyrics when he was 13 years old, and he also learned about MIDI. At the age of 17, he even worked part-time at a recording studio. Following that, he continued writing, composing and arranging music, rapping, and performing. Before joining Big Hit Entertainment, Suga was an underground rapper known as “Gloss.”

As a member of the hip-hop crew D-Town, he produced the song ‘518-062’ commemorating the Gwangju Uprising. He had joined Big Hit as a music producer, but he had been training with the other members for years. Later, on June 12, 2013, he made his debut as a member of BTS with the release of the single ‘2 Cool 4 Skool.’

He has appeared on almost all of BTS’s albums. Suga also released a solo intro song for The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1. (EP). Similarly, he released another intro, “Nevermind,” for Part 2 of the Album. His most recent intro song is “Shadow,” which was released in February of 2020.

Similarly, he has released two solo tracks under the BTS moniker, “First Love” for BTS’ 2016 studio album Wings and “Seasaw” for Love Yourself: Answer. Yoongi’s solo projects include a self-titled mixtape released on SoundCloud on August 15, 2016. With Suran’s song ‘Wine,’ Suga made his debut as a producer, producing songs for artists other than BTS.

Then, in February 2018, Suga re-released his mixtape as a digital album and made his solo debut as “AgustD.” He has also featured, composed, and produced songs for a variety of artists, including Lee So-rap ra’s in “Song Request,” Epik High, and Heixe’s “We Don’t Talk Together.”

In December of this year, he released a song called “Suga’s interlude” with American singer-songwriter Halsey, which he produced and featured. The Korea Music Copyright Association has assigned his name to more than 70 songs.

At the 2017 MMA, Suga’s produced and composed song ‘Wine,’ sung by Suran, won best soul/R&B. He even won the Hot Trend Award for the song. He was, however, rumored to be dating Korean singer Suran after becoming the producer for her song “Wine.” As a result, his agency denied that they had a thing and that he was just a colleague.
