Susan Peirez previously worked for the Arts Council of New York State. More importantly, she made headlines after allegedly yelling at a 19-year-old mother and flight attendant. However, after the Facebook video went viral, she was forced to resign.
In a Delta Fight, how did the brawl resurface?
Susan Peirez, 53, was flying on February 6, 2020, from JFK to Syracuse, New York. Marissa Rundell, 19, was on the same flight as Mason, her eight-month-old son. Peirez, meanwhile, began complaining to a Delta flight attendant named Tabitha about her seat in the back.
Because he had to sit next to a mother and her baby boy, the government employee began making a scene on the plane. Rundell was filming the incident at the time because he thought the 53-year-old’s behavior was amusing. The video shows a fight between Susan and Tabitha.
Was Mason’s sobbing really upsetting Susan Peirez?
The staff of the State Council was said to be disturbed by the eight-year-old’s sobbing. Baby’s mother, on the other hand, claimed he was not making a fuss. Rundell claimed Peirez used abusive language in front of her son while she was asked not to scream, according to the Sun.
According to Marissa, Susan’s words
Shut up and shove it.
The sound is obviously inappropriate in front of a small child. Many people believe that traveling in public requires a certain amount of patience.
What Caused Susan Peirez to Apologize on the Plane?
Returning to the Peirez squabble with Tabitha, a Delta flight attendant. A member of the on-board staff came over to intervene after hearing two passengers converse. The flight attendant was yelled at by the government employees. It was around this time that the 19-year-old began to record on camera for the purpose of uploading to the internet.
She also stated:
Tabitha, thank you – You might not be able to find work the next day.
The 53-year-old threatened to fire the air hostess. Tabitha, likewise, had had enough and demanded that Peirez be removed from the plane.
She stated that
I’d like this woman to get off my plane.
The New York state employee then abruptly changed her tune and insisted on flying. However, after some deportation to another plane, an emergency landing was made.
Rundell Apologizes for Producing the Viral Video That Cost Susan Peirez Her Job
The February 6 incident went viral, with Ms. Rundell’s video receiving over 1.7 million views in the two weeks following its upload. The Delta passenger’s leave of absence was suspended as soon as the higher council members saw the video. To be honest, her name and photograph have been removed from the Arts Council’s website.
Following her dismissal from the council, the young mother later admitted that, while she had been rude, she did not deserve to lose her job. Furthermore, she explained that she recorded primarily her comical behavior when she first boarded the plane.
Marissa stated that she initially approached the back seat, slammed her bags down, and said
This is utterly absurd. Having to sit in the back of the plane is a load of nonsense.
