SZA’s Weight Loss Journey; She Wore Her Father’s Shirts When She Weighed 200 Pounds

At one point in her life, the All The Stars singer didn’t want to be a singer. SZA, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, claims she became a singer by accident. And, once she got a taste of the real music business, there was no turning back.

But, as she entered the world of entertainment, she had no idea that it wasn’t all about glamour and fame. And it didn’t take long for her to receive a slew of comments about her appearance, particularly her weight. SZA used to weigh nearly 200 pounds as a newcomer to the industry.

She was obsessed with 90’s fashion, especially baggy pants and shirts, and it was the only type of clothing she owned. SZA, in fact, used to steal and wear her father’s baggy shirts. Even when performing on stage, the Columbia High School graduate would only be seen in colossal shirts and trousers.

SZA, on the other hand, decided to change her mind and concentrate on her weight. But you can’t blame it on the singer’s decision to process all of the negative comments and criticism about her body in her head. SZA, on the other hand, desired to live a healthier lifestyle. And, within a year, the drastic changes in SZA’s body could be seen.

SZA Credits Veganism

SZA chose natural procedures to help her lose the extra weight and achieve her weight loss goals. Although the singer has yet to comment on the rumors of her plastic surgery, she has been open about sharing her weight loss secrets with her fans.

Needless to say, her weight loss was not the result of relying on diet pills, surgery, or even strenuous gym workouts. Speaking of which, one of the first things She did was go vegan. She actually went vegan for an entire year. Also, she was careful with her plant-based diet and only paid attention to what she put inside her body.

She also avoided eating foods high in fat and calories, such as cheese and sugar. They are some of the extreme sources of weight gain. And, as previously stated, instead of putting in long hours at the gym, the singer chose to spend more time outdoors, such as hiking and strolling. SZA, on the other hand, enjoyed Pilates.

SZA was able to reduce her weight from 200 pounds to 150 pounds in a matter of months. She has experienced fluctuating weight loss and gain since then, but it is the least of her concerns for the singer, who believes that beauty is all about feeling good and comfortable with a “standard that comes from within.”
