Who exactly is Jimi Hendrix?
Jonny Allen Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington State, USA – his zodiac sign was Sagittarius, and he was of American nationality. He was reared in Seattle with his four siblings by their father Al, who served in the US Army during WWII, and their mother Lucille Jeter, a homemaker.
When Al returned from the war, he began abusing alcohol and Lucille, and they were quite aggressive with one another – they divorced when Jimi was nine, and Al was given custody of him and his brother Leon.
Jimi was a student at Horace Mann Elementary School when he discovered a ukulele in the garbage with just one string, which he repaired and learned to play. He attended Washington Junior High School but dropped out before graduating.
Jimi was 15 when he bought his first guitar for $5 and practised for roughly four hours every day while listening to B.B. King and Robert Johnson. After mastering the guitar, he formed the Velvetones and purchased an electric guitar. Jimi was caught driving a stolen vehicle when he was 19 years old, and he was given two options: go to jail or join the Army.
He enlisted and later formed the band The Casuals, which performed on Army bases. He was released from the army in 1963 and created a new band, The King Kasuals, with whom he performed until January 1964, when he chose to go solo. His first single, “Testify,” was released in March 1965 and peaked at #35 on the Billboard Chart.
He also joined Little Richard’s band but was sacked after a few months. Jimi continued to compose songs on his own and by 1969 had become the world’s highest-paid rock performer. Throughout his career, Jimi was addicted to booze and drugs, and he frequently used LSD, which eventually contributed to his death — it was revealed after his post-mortem test in 1970 that he died of suffocation after taking the drug barbiturate and aspirating his own vomit.
It was then revealed that he had taken nine sleeping pills, despite being only supposed to take half of one. Jimi met Tamika’s mother in 1966, and they began living together after only a month.
Diane was only 16 years old when she became pregnant, and when she realized she couldn’t continue travelling with Jimi, she returned to Minneapolis. Jimi dated and slept with numerous other women and girls, some of whom have claimed to have given birth to his children, but no paternity tests have ever been performed to prove this.
