She made her professional debut for the American all-female organization Shimmer Women Athletes at Volume 81. Veda Scott defeated her first, then Nicole Matthews defeated her the following day at Volume 82. When she defeated Scott at volume 84, she achieved her first victory in Shimmer. She made her What Culture Pro Wrestling (WCPW) debut on July 27 at Loaded #5, defeating Bea Priestley, only to lose to Priestley the following day. On August 24, Newell and Priestley squared off once more in a bout to determine the first-ever WCPW Women’s Champion, which Newell won. On February 13, 2017, Bea Priestley defeated her in a no-disqualification match to claim the WCPW Women’s Championship, ending her 173-day reign.

In January 2017, Newell set off on her maiden tour of Japan with the all-female promotion Stardom. In their opening match of the tour, she and Kay Lee Ray defeated Oedo Tai (Kris Wolf and Viper). It was rumored in April 2017 that Newell had signed a contract with WWE; however, she didn’t compete again until April 13, 2018, at an NXT live event, where she and Dakota Kai defeated Reina González and Vanessa Borne in a tag team match. Later, on June 25, 2019, during an NXT live event in Orlando, Florida, she made her comeback to the ring. On September 11, she defeated Shax to make her NXT UK debut. As a result of her feud with Kay Lee Ray, the NXT UK Women’s Champion, they engaged in a non-title match on the third edition of “NXT UK,” where Nox lost. Nox and Ripley invaded “SmackDown” as one of numerous NXT performers to do so. They challenged Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to a tag-team bout, which Nox and Ripley won. Later that evening, Nox joined Triple H and the rest of the NXT roster as they promised to win the Survivor Series brand war by declaring war on both Raw and SmackDown.

After a brief absence due to a plot-related injury, she made a brief appearance on the 15th January 2020 episode of NXT. On July 6, 2021, at The Great American Bash, Tegan made her return after a nearly ten-month absence, prompting LeRae and Indi Hartwell to lose the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship to Io Shirai and Zoey Stark. Following the contest, Nox attacked LeRae. On the July 9th episode of “SmackDown,” she made her main roster debut by teaming with Shotzi as Shotzi & Nox to defeat Natalya and Tamina, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, in a non-title contest. The two would go on to win multiple tag team bouts against Natalya and Tamina, but they would never be given a championship match. The team also came to an end when she was selected in the 2021 Draft while Shotzi stayed on the SmackDown brand. On November 18, she was let off from her WWE contract despite never making an appearance on Raw.
