At the age of 15, Tom Kilbey started participating in football with Millwall. He made his first-team debut against Swansea City in the Football League Trophy at the age of 16 in September 2007. Kilbey signed a contract with Portsmouth the next year for an undisclosed sum, starting in the academy before moving up to the reserve squad.

He spent a month on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge before committing to Portsmouth for a further year in 2009. After learning that his contract wouldn’t be renewed, Kilbey left the team in May 2011. On March 24, 2011, he was loaned to Lincoln City, a team for whom he had played. After a career in football, Tom joined TOWIE in the fourth season, which debuted in January 2012.
