Travis Scott ‘punched sound engineer in face and caused $12k damage in club brawl’

Travis Scott allegedly punched a sound engineer in the face while “angry” and drunk at a New York City nightclub, causing $12,000 in damage.

The ‘Sicko Mode’ rapper Travis Scott, 31, is said to have gone “postal” and landed the blow after allegedly arguing with a 52-year-old engineer who is not believed to have required medical attention while performing with Don Toliver, who has a weekly spot at Club Nebula, in the early hours of Wednesday. According to Page Six, police responded to a report of an assault at the nightspot, adding that “the alleged victim did not complain of pain or have any visible injuries at the time of the report.”

Travis is also accused of damaging a video screen and a speaker before leaving the club, according to Page Six. He has not been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.

“Travis came in angry and intoxicated and gradually went postal,” one source told the outlet.

“It said on his shirt, ‘Back the f-k up.’ He appeared to be ready for battle. It was all a foreshadowing.”

According to another source, Travis was apparently “upset” about the club’s sound quality. and claimed that the alleged “fast and furious” incident began within ten minutes of his arrival.

“Travis then walks over to the soundman yelling aggressively in his face on why he lowered the sound, then he smacks the soundman right across the face,” a third source said of Travis’ alleged approach to the engineer after he turned down the volume.

“It caused quite a stir among Travis’ security and club security. Travis then took the phone from a fan who was filming Don Toliver’s performance and threw it on the floor.”

NYPD officers arrived at the scene at 3.25am, and a spokesperson from the force told DailyMail.com there was “also a verbal dispute at that location that ended in $12,000 worth of damage to equipment”.

“At this time, no warrant has been issued, and the suspect is not being sought,” they added. However, this could change.

According to police sources, Travis punched the alleged victim in the face with a “closed fist” to the left side.

Travis, who has a five-year-old daughter Stormi and a 12-month-old son Aire with his ex-Kylie Jenner, has a history of run-ins with the law, including pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in February 2018 following an incident at an Arkansas concert the previous year.

And he was dogged by controversy for his appearance at the Astroworld Festival in Houston in 2021, where ten people died in a stampede that November.

Attendees and families filed 400 lawsuits against Travis, Live Nation, and other event participants, which were combined into a single civil case representing nearly 2,800 victims.

Travis and Live Nation both denied the allegations and any wrongdoing, and a coroner confirmed that all victims died as a result of compression asphyxia.
